The National Championship isn’t the only game in town and BPO players have several other chances to leave Las Vegas with some extra cash in their pockets and a new trophy for their case.<\/p>\n

Two side events ran yesterday and BPO players could hop on in if they lost their stack in the Championship. The first side tournament of the day was a $150 buy-in No Limit Hold’em tournament with a healthy $20,000 guaranteed prize pool. The start time was pushed back an hour due to the massive National Championship field and it easily surpassed the guarantee. The tournament drew 195 entries to create a prize pool worth $21,450 and the 21 players cashed. \u00a0Adam Shapiro outlasted everyone to take the trophy plus $4,976 for his efforts.<\/p>\n

The 7pm tournament was a lot of fun and had a tag team format. The two-member teams switched players at the table every orbit until players dropped by the wayside at a steady pace. The unique tournament drew 86 teams for a $13,760 prize pool with the final table nine teams making the money. The\u00a0Bo Ruckman\/William McCool and David White\/Doralee Rae teams were in a dead heat at the end and chopped up the team trophies.<\/p>\n

There is another $150 buy-in\/$20,000 Guarantee event running now in the ballroom and a $200 Green Chip Bounty event kicks off at 7pm, two more shots at a Bar Poker Open trophy.<\/p>\n
