BPO Championship: The Champ Staying Alive
Last year Bar Poker Open Championship winner Fritz Barnes moves all in from early position for 67,500. The action folds to a player in late position who reshoves for about 85,000. The other players quickly fold and the hands are shown.
Barnes: 6♣6♥
Opponent: A♥K♣
It’s a classic coin flip situation with Barnes at risk for his tournament life. The dealer spreads the 8♣7♦8♥ and Barnes remains in the lead.
His opponent picks up some extra counterfeit outs but the turn J♥ and river Q♠ are no help to him. Barnes earns the double up and our defending champion survives. “I don’t mind losing to the champ” jokes his opponent as Barnes stacks his chips.
