National Championship Day 1: Sean Russell Ends the Day

2017 Bar Poker Open National Championship
Level 23: 20,000/40,000 with a 4,000 Ante
Day 1A Entries: 552
Players Remaining: 27

It only took ten minutes of Level 23 to lose the three players needed to end the day. Pikes Peak Poker’s Sean Russell did the heavy lifting when his A♠ 9♥ rivered a heart flush against 5♥ 5♠ to put the National Championship down to 27 players.

The clock was paused, the rail celebrated, and players congratulated each other for making it through to Day 2.

Howard Acoff continued to dominate and bagged up a huge lead. His 1,915,000 is more than double the second place stack of Ryan Chua’s 870,000.

Full chip counts for the 27 remaining players will be posted as soon as they are available.
