National Championship Day 1B: Second Flight Ready to Fly

Bar Poker Open trophies

The second flight of the 2017 Bar Poker Open National Championship is about to get underway after a long opening run yesterday. Day 1A saw 552 players take their first shot at the title with 27 advancing to Day 2 tomorrow.

Everyone today is trying to chase down Howard Acoff, the current chip leader who bagged up an impressive 1,915,000. He was the only player in seven-digit territory with 2014 BPO National Champion Ryan Chua sitting in second place with 870,000.

Everyone who played yesterday is eligible to buy-in today for $235 and aim for a piece of the $200,000 prize pool. Even if players were part of the 63 who made the money yesterday or who were among the 27 who advanced, they can still play today with a chance to cash again or build a bigger bag. If anyone bags up again, their biggest stack will be put into play tomorrow and they will receive a Day 2 min-cash for the other stack.

The structure today is the same as yesterday. Players sit down to 25,000 deep stacks and the tournament will run 30-minute levels throughout. Late registration is open until the start of Level 5 around 1:15pm and we will crunch the payout numbers at that point. Approximately 10% of today’s field will earn some cash with the last 5% moving on to Day 2 tomorrow.

Cards will go in the air at the top of the hour and we will see if anyone can catch Acoff at the top.
