National Championship: Jennifer Baigorria Catches Tough Beat
2017 Bar Poker Open National Championship
Level 25: 50,000/100,000 with a 10,000 Ante
Total Entries: 817
Players Remaining: 16
The last three tables have showed no interest in slowing down and we lost two players of note. Howard Acoff began the day with a big chip lead but was sent out in 18th place after he made a move with Qx Jx for 1.2 million straight into Nick Sims’ pocket kings. The hand pushed Sims far into the lead with ~4.7 million and Acoff was gone soon after in 19th place.
Jennifer Baigorria made a good move at her table after seeing three limpers. She raised it up from the big blind to 285,000 to get folds from the first two limpers. Tom Amato moved all in from the small blind for slightly more and Baigorria called to put him at risk with a dominant hand Ac Th against Ah 9d. The 6s 6c 2h flop was safe but her bad beat came on the 9h turn. The 6d river sent the double to Amato, left Baigorria with dust, and she was gone two hands later in 17th place.
That also meant it was time for another redraw, this time down to two tables with 16 players remaining.
